Become a host family in Exmouth
All our junior students stay with English homestay families in Exmouth, within walking distance (maximum 45 minutes walk) of the school. If you don't fancy the walk, buses are available, and a local bus pass costs £9 per week (not included).
We believe that a big part of experiencing English culture is spending time living with an English family - you will be enjoying English life and speaking English every day.
Usually you will stay in single or twin rooms, shared with other students of the same age and sex as yourself. (an individual room supplement is available on request).
If possible, you will also share a room with a student of your age speaking another native language than you, but you should bear in mind that at very busy times, this may not always be possible and you might be on your own.
All our homestay families are diverse - they include single mothers, elderly people, as well as families and younger couples. However, they all have one thing in common - they enjoy welcoming foreign students into their homes, and will treat you like one of their own!
Every one of our homestay families have been personally vetted by ourselves, and most have been welcoming students into their home for many years. We have visited them in their homes, and are personal friends with many of them. We pride ourselves on offering the very best homestay family accommodation in the town.
Feedback from our students tells us that they are very happy with our choice of families, but if there is ever a problem, we investigate it ourselves, personally, and deal with it immediately.
Families always meet their students from the coach park or train station when they arrive in Exmouth.
It is possible to receive calls in your host family house, but we ask that you do not use their phone, without first seeking their permission.
If you are staying for more than two weeks, our host families will do some laundry for you. However, please bring enough clothes for your two week stay.
The price includes towels and bedding.
Every day, you will be given breakfast, packed lunch and an evening meal. .
On Sundays, your rest day, you are free to do your own thing, or meet up with your new friends in the town.

What to expect in a homestay family!
Don't expect a full traditional English breakfast in the mornings! These days, you are more likely to have toast and cereal - a more 'continental' breakfast.
Your packed lunch will include a sandwich, crisps, drink and a piece of fruit or yoghurt and a chocolate bar. At the weekends, you will be given a light lunch - sandwich or a snack - or a packed lunch if you are off out for the day.
The main meal of the day in England is in the evening, and is usually at 18.00 or 18.30. An early evening meal means that you will have the chance to go out again afterwards to meet up with your friends.
Please try the English food - even if it is different from what you are used to at home - it's all part of the experience! If you do not particularly like something, please let your homestay family know, and they will change it for you.
